THE SATELLITE STAGE RETURNS TO THE ARENA IN 2016, AS THE
ASHLEY MONROE, HIGH VALLEY, MAREN MORRIS, STRIKING MATCHES FRANKIE BALLARD, AND ONE MORE SPECIAL GUEST TO BE ANNOUNCED
Following the success showcasing some of the best new talent around, the Satellite Stage in the main arena at C2C will be back with a new name – THE YAMAHA MUSIC STAGE. Six standout acoustic artists will be performing over the weekend in-between the main stage acts. Last year sawappearances by Sam Palladio, Sam Hunt, The Shires and Ward Thomas on the massively popular stage.
Ashley Monroe was the first artist confirmed earlier this month and we can now announce who will be joining her across the weekend:
FRIDAY MARCH 11
Most folks, as soon as they hear Ashley Monroe, instantly recognize one thing: she’s the real deal. Her songs resonate so profoundly because they reflect the experiences of a young artist who has already seen both the best and worst that life has to offer. The Tennessee born singer-songwriter’s new album The Blade was released in the US in July on Warner Bros. Nashville immediately going to No. 1 on iTunes Country Chart. It was produced by friend and mentor Vince Gill and Justin Niebank.
Special Guest to be announced on this day, so watch this space.
SATURDAY MARCH 12
Canadian brothers Brad and Curtis Rempel are High Valley. These two young men are making what the music industry in Nashville has called “singular,” “seminal,” and “a perfect mix of radio, revision, and respect.” But they like to call it “popgrass”! Growing up on a 1,400-acre farm in the far-northern reaches of Alberta, with music, farming and family as the basis of their entertainment, their musical language was formed at a very young age.
Young Texan singer- Maren Morris has quickly established herself in Nashville’s competitive music community with songwriting and vocal stylings that reflect her country, folk and pop influences. After winning the 2012 New Music Seminar’s “Artist On The Verge” award she signed a publishing deal and has had cuts with likes of Tim McGraw and Kelly Clarkson. She has appeared with such artists as Pat Green, Gary Allan and Marty Stuart and is newly signed to Sony Nashville.
SUNDAY MARCH 13
The duo comprising Sarah Zimmermann and Justin Davis were Pop-Up artists at the last two C2C Festivals in London, but next year they make their debut in the Arena. Musically they occupy the sweet spot at the intersection of country, rock and blues, where all of the elements blend to form an authentically raw and rootsy sound that has a timeless and international appeal. They have written songs for the “Nashville” TV series and toured with Vince Gill, Ashley Monroe, Hunter Hayes, Train, Keith Urban and The Lone Bellow.
Frankie Ballard is making his mark on the Country music scene, scoring three consecutive no.1 singles – the latest “Young & Crazy” and gold-certified hits “Sunshine & Whiskey” and “HelluvaLife” – from his most recent album Sunshine & Whiskey. A self-taught guitar ace, Ballard’s unique blend of blues-infused, country rock is evident throughout Sunshine & Whiskey, which debuted Top 5 on the Billboard Country Albums Chart. Just out of the studio with the new single, “It All Started With a Beer”, ROLLING STONE hailed him as ‘Required listening.’ Playing over 400 shows across North America in the past two years, the ‘headliner in the making’ has opened arenas for Taylor Swift, Kenny Chesney, Florida Georgia Line and the legendary Bob Seger.
