Bob Harris’ UNDER THE APPLE TREE SESSIONS, which were a huge success at C2C 2015, will return this year to a much larger venue within The O2.  Building Six, located close to the Town Square, will host artists on Saturday and Sunday during the festival.

Bob Harris said “We are excited to be hosting Under The Apple Tree Sessions at C2C again this year. We are honoured to have been invited back after hosting the stage for the first time last year. Building Six will become our new venue, where we will be putting on 12 of our absolute favourite artists across the Saturday and Sunday of the festival.”

From midday until 4.00pm Building Six will host live performances from the following artists:

Balsamo Deighton
Steve Balsamo and Rosalie Deighton - both respected vocalists, musicians and songwriters in their own right – have joined forces to record a collection of ‘grown up songs on the human condition’.  Influenced by a wealth of classic writers and musicians - from Gram Parsons, Crowded House and Steve Earle to Tom Petty, Ryan Adams, Robert Plant and Alison Krauss - Balsamo Deighton's songs pretty much nod and wink to them all. The duo are two close friends, simply making music that they love.

Originally from Lincolnshire, Callaghan moved to the US in summer 2010 to record and tour with Shawn Mullins. Since then she’s been busily carving out a career for herself and winning fans all across the USA. Back home in the UK the BBC’s Bob Harris has been a strong supporter, regularly playing her music on both his Radio 2 shows and describing her as “a wonderful artist.... beautiful, warm and hugely talented”.

A modern UK Country band who have developed a loyal fan base since their set on the Pop-Up stages at Country to Country 2014, the four piece have gone from strength to strength playing regularly in London and UK country festivals including Yeehaw, Fort San Antone Fest and MidWinterFest.

Frankie Davies
A big favourite amongst UK based country & folk singers; Frankie was born in Jersey. Much as she loves her Island home, that stage was just too small for this girl and she’s since travelled the length and breadth of the UK taking her particular brand of original folk & country music with her.  She’s subsequently visited LA, San Francisco and Nashville in the US.
Jess & The Bandits
Country music really is a powerful thing. It unites fans, and it brings bands together too. Jess and the Bandits are the living proof. Front-woman Jessica Clemmons, the singer-songwriter fromHouston, Texas with the big voice and the warm personality, bonded with the four Brits who make up the
Bandits over their mutual love of the music. Now they’re turning that shared affection into some of the most accessible country-pop-rock of the year.

Kimmie Rhodes
Singer-songwriter Kimmie Rhodes is a native Texan who calls Austin home. A creative and prolific artist, she has recorded and released a total of sixteen solo CDs to critical acclaim, and featured in publications worldwide, including Vogue, MOJO and Oxford American Magazine. USA Today included her album “West Texas Heaven” in their Top Ten of the Year. She has written and produced three musical plays and a catalogue of hundreds of songs, many of which have appeared in major motion picture soundtracks. Kimmie’s multi-platinum selling songs have been recorded by such stellar acts as Willie Nelson, Trisha Yearwood, Mark Knopfler and Emmylou Harris.

Laura Oakes
Laura Oakes is a British Country Music Artist from Liverpool. Coming from a huge Liverpudlian family, where everyone sings or plays an instrument, it was only a matter of time before Laura caught the music bug. She jokes that her family find communicating by singing in three-part harmony just as natural as talking. However, Laura started taking music a little more seriously in her teens. As you might expect with such a big, musical family, she grew up with a wealth of influences. Elton John & Bernie Taupin, Bonnie Raitt, David Gates & Tina Turner where all favourites, but it was after discovering Dolly Parton and the Dixie Chicks, that Country Music truly won her heart.

Pauper Kings
A pioneering, history-making Country music band from the UK. In just 3 years, the Pauper Kings have pushed the boundaries and awareness of Country music in the UK, both nationally and internationally to an unprecedented level.

Robert Vincent
Robert Vincent is an award winning singer songwriter from Liverpool.  Robert was the winner of the prestigious and first-ever Bob Harris Emerging Artist award at the 2016 Americana UK Awards.  In presenting the award, Bob described him as “Absolutely magnetic! I am so impressed with Robert’s music. Strong songs laced with blues and country. He is the real deal”.

Benjamin Folke Thomas
Swedish-born Benjamin Folke Thomas has been exciting London audiences since his arrival seven years ago. A brilliant finger-picker, who cites 'sad guys with guitars' as his inspiration, he writes songs with depths of meaning - sometimes dark, often personal -  possessing a lyrical and stylistic maturity beyond his years. Whether solo or backed by his three piece band of equally talented Swedish musicians, he delivers a show of pure quality and passion.
